This is a compass Rose ceiling detail that will go into a recessed pocket in the ceiling. First we start by gathering a bunch of old growth veneer flitches. Making up your mind on what looks good and what pops is very time consuming.

This is the design we are doing

Gathering the veneer and trying to make a decision.

Cutting some parts to see what they look like.

Thanks for sharing! Having an eye for this is a gift that you have. Being able to envision the end from a pile of parts. Incredible. I saw the finished project first and came over from your link. Thanks again!
