I started my love of woodworking at a young age, helping my dad sweep up the shop when he was done for the day. A task I loved to do, and still enjoy 30+ years later. One of the best Christmas presents I ever received was a workbench built by my mom's father who also taught me a great deal in the world of tools, woods, finishes, and how you can make anything you need -if you are willing to work to do so. Both my mom's father and my dad's father did woodworking as a hobby at the least and as a profession for a while, so you could say that sawdust is in my blood.

All of my experience led to a natural movement to major in furniture design in college and though I don't get to work with it as much today as I would like, I still love to see a form start to take shape out of just a vision. I love the sight of that first layer of finish that goes down on a piece of figured wood. I don't even mind a slightly sore back and a sweaty brow knowing that I earned them for something lasting.

Anything worth doing is worth doing right. Anything you make or put your name to says something about who you are and where you're from. Hopefully my work will have a lot to say.
