New to woodworking, althoug I suspect somwhere, deep inside, the interest has been latentely lurking about, waiting to get a hold of me.

The spark that got me going was a couple of Stanley benchplanes I inherited from my grandfathers workshop some years ago. After some tedious research I found that those beautiful lumps of cast iron and rosewood had already served faithfully for twice or tripple my own age, and was still in working condition. Filled with awe and respect, I went "plane crazy", and have since then acquired a little collection of planes and knowledge about them.

And that was my stepping stone to woodworking in general.
I currently spend my spare time trying to furnish my tiny workshop, as well as a great deal of pondering and trying to get my head around the subject of dovetailing.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself just about 2 years ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
I apologize for the late welcome but I am currently serving overseas and don’t have a lot of spare time on my hands.

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
