Last month, I realized I needed a place for my wood

It’s been a month in the making, but I finally finished it tonight.

It’s a rolling lumber cart. I put sheet goods on one side, lumber stood up on the other. The middle is a mix of both, and I put it on heavy duty casters.

Everything went as planned. Sketchup helped me get all the angles right. I really like prototyping in Sketchup. I can design, make all the parts, fit it together, and even create cut sheets from raw lumber and take it all the way to final product. If I can only only develop my woodworking skills to match my Sketchup abilities, I could build anything.

Anyway, The cart is 6.5’ tall, 9’ wide, and 1/2” off the ground, on leveled casters, 8’ stock, on the rack, still fits under the beam that spans my garage’s ceiling. So, I can place it anywhere in the garage and get it out of the way when needed.

It’s well built and doesn’t sag under the weight of the lumber…..yet :-)

Now it’s time to install my Woodpecker Router Lift in my out-feed table, make a leg tapering jig, and finally start to make things….like some end tables….Instead of only making things for the shop that will help me make things for the house, I can start actually making things for the house.

It’s a good day :-)

Be sure to put your router lift in horizontally. :)

Very nice. It’s a handy bugger to have. I built one similar last year and it’s definitely been a huge help!
