So I know that lots of people have posted their dust collection systems, so I thought I would post mine.

Below is the final picture and a schematic of what I built. In short, it’s a Harbor Freight dust collector, a Wynn Engineering Filter, a salad bowl as an internal baffle, and a Super Dust Deputy cyclone. The dust connections are made with 4” rubber pipe connections to the tools. To top it off, I just made my own remote control switch using some relays and a $10 wireless remote for Christmas tree lights. (Look for that Post Soon)

Thanks for the great write-up. The link with the extra pictures (my browser is cutting off the right side of the diagram above) and additional detail really help. Please post back when you’ve used it for a while to let us know how it is working for you.

Sorry, I am new to this so the pictures were too large. Hope they now come through OK.

looks great! I have the Wynn filter but cleaning it is a pain. looking at these baffles from fry pans to super metal work. when you mount the salad bowl into the dust collector cone what kind of space did you leave between cone and bowl? I am assuming you need the dish shape t assist vs a flat pizza pan. I am also going to redo the filter from internal turn buckles to exterior buckles. thinking top plate on top of canister with chains turn buckles to collector mid section.

Have your say...
