Never had the opportunity to take a woodshop class in high school. I always said if I ever had the money to buy some really good tools and had a shop of my own that I would go for it. Well after obtaining ASE certified mechanic and driving a heavy duty tow truck for 15 years I realized that my dreams of a shop were not going to happen. So in 1999 I went to nursing school and in 2003 started a great job at a local hospital in critical care. WOW!!!! I should have done this many years earlier. The wife said she would not park in our 2 car garage anymore and my shop was born last year. More pictures coming soon. I almost forgot about the rest of the fam...2 great boys and wonderful wife. Im so glad I found this site, soooooooo very addictive.

Thanks Guys, The warm welcome was great. I just secured the deal of a lifetime when the wife said she would quit parking in the garage if I bought her the new house she wanted…..Can you say “done deal”. We have been in the house for 4 months and have just now unpacked the last box out of the garage. ( We are nurses that are back in school finishing up our 4 year degree so time is limited.) This garage, a 20×20 with extra 10×6 alcove, is mine…all mine….mine..mine..mine..mine..mine. I will post pictures of the growing shop from start to finish and hopefully let the members here have alot of input in the design and functionality of the new shop. I think that will be exciting. lets just sit back and see what happens.

Wow, a great deal a new shop and a new house. I wish you success on the schooling; I know how difficult it can be to juggle real life and attending classes/completing assignments. It all seems to get in the way of making sawdust:-)

Welcome to Lumberjocks. Looking forward to progress photos as the shop develops and projects start coming!

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless

Hi guys, its Novicebutlearning, aka Mike. To answer your question, you get the® symbol by placing on bracket (, the a R, and then another ). The computer program then interprets this as a®. I’m a mac fiend but I am pretty sure this works on PC’s as well.
