One thing I like about living in the Seattle area is the huge variety of stuff you can find here. I have 5 different salvage stores to choose from and 4 different slab stores (that i know of) . You can find just about anything you can imagine and a lot more beyond that. A few weeks ago I found some small-ish chunks of redwood at a salvage shop for $20 each. They are about 20×20 and 5 inches thick. I was pretty happy with my find but on sunday I found something bigger. MUCH bigger. I found a monster end grain redwood slab it is 40 inches long and 30 inches wide. It was broken in 2 places but I have successfully doweled the pieces back together and it is drying in my shop at as i write this. I paid $125 for this beast and I can probably flip it as a table for a lot more. Especially since it will be a three piece set.

That is pretty cool!
