I have been working with wood for a while, both as a hobby and as a profession. I am not currently employed in the woodworking trades which is why I probably enjoy it so much as a part time hobby/job. My woodworking career started at a large sawmill and from there to a commercial shop where everything was industrial or retail store fixtures like service counters, etc... I spent a few years at a high end door manufacturer and also a custom window shop before leaving the wood trades for my current job and building my own small part time woodworking shop.
My family resides in western New York state otherwise known as dairy country, the saying is more cows than people. We have excellent availability to top grade hardwoods and wood products here.

Welcome. You have found the right place for woodworking. A great group of people willing to help. Looking forward to see your projects and comments. Work safe in the shop and don’t forget to use pushsticks.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself just about 2 years ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
I apologize for the late welcome but I am currently serving overseas and don’t have a lot of spare time on my hands.
Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…

I would have never thought there was anyone on here that knew where Warsaw, NY is, never mind actually being from there. I have property up on the East hill.
