I am a woodturner with some serious back problems and I am looking for a SIT DOWN lathe stand design for a new Delta Midi that is very minimal, low and easy to get close to. The other challenge I have is that I am 5’1” tall so it has to be very close to the ground.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi Carmen, I also have a serious back problem, but I have raised my lathe up a little higher than it should be, this forces me to straighten up a little and not stoop forward. I can only turn for a short time, but a little is better than nothing, it just takes me a bit longer to turn anything. Hope you get a result…..Happy turning…..

I use this stand with a board running across. It is adjustable. Works great for me. Plus it’s on sale now.
