Location: Dublin, NH & Bocas del Toro, Panama

I am a retired ER doc, but I have been an avid wood worker even before I was a doctor. A charter subscriber to WoodSmith, I have built innumerable projects from their pages, from hand mirrors and jewelery boxes to a dining room table. I've even built a kayak and a foiling trimaran (long before foils were 'in'!) I've also designed and built 'state of the art' dipole speakers. Furniture has included beds for each kid including a four poster with all turned posts, multiple stereo speakers and cabinets, tables and coffee tables, a cradle made from a single pine board with no metal fasteners (now on its 2nd generation), and lots more. Most recent project was a crib for my new granddaughter. I am currently building a toddler bed for my grandson using all locally sourced cherry.
When I retired and moved to Panama, I took about 1/2 of my shop with me and sold the rest. Now that I have re-established a residence in NH (summer cottage on a pond), I am in the process of furnishing a shop - mostly from Craigslist. So far I have scored: Craftsman table saw with Align-A-Rip fence, Skill miter saw, Craftsman 12" tilting blade bandsaw, Ridgid 13" planer, Shop vac, and lots of hand tools. Bought new: Harbor Freight lathe (14 x 18") with Harrison Specialties carbide turning tools, Tractor Supply floor drill press, Grizzly router table with HF 2 hp router and Grizzly bits, HF 'European' work bench (sure wish I still had the one I made of solid rock maple!) Not complete yet, but getting there.
