« Part 1: got a good start, looking for more ideas Part 2 of table saw workstation series no next part

had a bondo kit sitting around so i made a dust collection chute a la David Drummond (thanks for the idea!)

it was a small bondo kit so i might have to go over it with a second coat. it’s fairly rigid already tho. this was my first time ever using a fiberglass kit for anything.

Okay, so do I understand this right, you made a dust chute out of a T shirt and fiberglass resin?

I have to ask the dumb question… Why not use fiberglass cloth? Is there an advantage to using cotton?

yes pretty much a t-shirt and fiberglass resin.
i did put fibergloss cloth over about 75% of it. (the darker part in the picture)
the t-shirt was easier to stretch into the basic shape than fiberglass cloth would be i think.

i used furniture tacks to hold it at the top and a hose clamp to hold it around the pipe at the bottom of the chute.

honestly i can’t believe how quick and easy it was.
