Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

    God Bless

Thanks for the warm welcome. I've been lurking for quite a while. Returned home after 3 years living in the UK and the urge to get back to some DIY was pretty strong. I've spent the last 6 months full-time turning my basement into a proper workshop. Massive amount of lighting, electrical, dust collection, air filtration, new subfloor, walls, tables, work benches… and dialing in all my machinery (my grandfather was a machinist and I was infected with his attention to .001" tolerances at an early age.) I have about 450 bf of white oak, cherry and hard maple drying in my solar kiln… it's now down to 9% so I'm ready to go. Yesterday I snatched a truckload of 3/4" veneer core off craigslist for $6/sheet. Going back for the rest today… (a few sheets of honduran mahogany in there along with figured cherry and quilted maple.)

Now I just need to start building something! With our daughter getting old/strong enough to pull herself to standing (and out growing her basinet) means a crib is the first order of business.
