Part 1: Dry fit.

Bless me Father for I have sinned..It has been 25 days since my last cutting board post..As part of a Xmas order, I have started to make the illustrious Double Step by SPalm... thanks Steve.I selected some timber to make this with… Tasmanian Blackwood, Silver Ash and Queensland Maple… then went over to the table saw to set the blade to 60 degrees… bugger can’t find my bevel box… Oh well just have to take a wild stab and use one of the trivets I made that have 120...

Part 2: The glue up.

Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures of the actual glue up..Which by the way was a real bugger…I used the standard two fixed and two loose cauls but had a lot of slippage …I did manage to remember to take these of the board just out of clamps and on the TWC for flattening … using the 55 mm surfacing cutter bit in the router….. These are after the board had been squared on the table saw… using the Incra Mitre express to square the ends… Looki...

Part 3: Another year later...

I received an order for one of SPalm’s double step boards… well started it this morning… need to finish it and have it shipped on Monday Morning… Found some Melaleuca, Acacia, and Mango… Dressed and bevel ripped… glued the two logs together and then cross cut on the SCMS…sorry no pics… Here is the dry fit… A little mineral spirits to show the colour.. Close up… I sanded each side to ensure a snug fit..This is before...
