While attending the Brisbane Timber and Working with Wood Show last weekend, I had the good fortune to meet up with quite a few friends.. Among them was Doug.. aka LJer Woodfix… Doug lives in Brisbane and has been threatening to come up to see me in my workshop but to date has been unable to make it up…Managed to get a pic..The day before I met up with another ‘new’ Lumber Jock but was so busy… no pic and I apologise but did not catch his name..Just as a small as...

Well last week I was in Christchurch …. New Zealand…. and dropped in to see Moshe... and have a look at the workshop… I needed a wood fix.. away from the shop for a whole week…Here are a couple of pics…and had a closer look at his variation of the Step… very impressive… more so up close… Enjoyed a cold beer with him and left with a few pieces of wood…Nice bit of Rimu and a piece of recycled Matai..Good to finally put a face and voice to th...

I met up with new LJer Bob… sorry I did not get your online name…at the Canberra Timber and Working With Wood Show last weekend…He told me he had been following my blogs and it was great to catch up with him and chat about some of the things that have been posted on LJs and show him some of my work closeup…A quick photo opportunity…He particularly liked the curved weave I made a while back and keep for display.

Or actually many good turns… While in Sydney recently, I was fortunate enough to catch up with a fellow LumberJock, Sam Shakouri who is a member of the Sydney Woodturners… check out there site... This man is one of the most talented wood turners I have met.. I am holding one of Sam’s turnings, a soccer ball, in my hand… Many have turned some beautiful work, but only a few have taken segmented turning into the 3D world… Just a few more pics.. ...
