The other day I posted a couple of projects where I used some reddish-white wood, that we around here call “Cedar.” I don’t know what the species name is, some say Western Red, some Say Eastern Red, so I don’t know for sure.
I received enough interest on the wood type from commenters to the project and emails,, that I did some checking around, and I found a local source for this red/white cedar wood with the aromatic smell if anyone is interested in it. It would come already cut into boards, 4/4 thick, and has been stickered for air drying.
If you are interested in some of the wood, Email me and I will get you more information, find out how much you want, and how to get it to you. Those details will all affect the cost, so I can’t quote a cost until I know how much you want.
I have five more “Fun With Cedar…” projects to post, hope to get time to do that soon.
Here are the projects I have posted so far that have this type of “Cedar” wood used.

Beautiful word Mark. Too bad it is so far away (for me). I can see some nice boxes and chests being made from that wood.

I agree with Bill. I was thinking a blanket chest and also that it is too far away.
