Miter Saws

I am upgrading my 13 year old 10” delta miter saw, I’ve narrowed it down to 2 choices.
Choice 1 Milwaukee 6950-20

I like this saw because it has a digital miter read out, and has a light on each side of blade. Only problem is I can’t find a store or distributor that has saw in stock. I’d like to look at it and put my hands on it before spending close to $500 bucks.

Choice 2 DeWalt 716

This is also a nice saw and I’ve looked at it in person, I have a few DeWalt tools and am happy with them.

Both saw’s compare well against each other. Both are 12”, dual bevel and so on. Any thoughts.

I have the Milwaukee. Bought it about 18 months ago for $275 new in the box, but that was a Craigslist find. The saw has not disappointed me yet. Both saws would be a fine addition to any shop. I’d just look for the best deal I could find.

Amazon does charge sales tax, I think if they have a warehouse in the state you live in (ie Kentucky) you have to pay sales tax. But free shipping is always an incentive. I really wanted to look at the Milwaukee in person.

I have used the DeWalt with an upgraded blade. It is fine performer and I would buy another one if I had the money and the need.

Have you considered a sliding compound miter saw? Milwaukee and Dewalt both make them and the extra crosscut capabilities are a great feature.

I don’t think that I have the need, I have a radial arm saw and my miter saw station is set close enough to the wall as not to provide clearance.
