I am retired and after a long interlude, I'm getting back into woodworking and home restoration. My approach to both woodworking and home restoration tends to be proctical and artistic. I was a Shopsmith instructor for several years and enjoyed both teaching and learning with my students. Woodworking is a constant learning process (as life generally is) and my accomplishments reflect my aspirations and ideals.
A tool of any kind will only help you create your aspirations; it is necessary to ask yourself what it is you would like to achieve and why. I seldom keep what I have made and find that the greatest reward is to make something that helps someone else. Whether it is fixing a sticking door or turning a bud vase, I look my goal is to give something of value.
