Hi there, I am from South Africa and I would love to make a modern prayer bench like the one you have on pinterest, would you be willing to give me the dimensions and how to build it? If you could I would absolutely appreciate it. My contact is lynnisaacs15@gmail.com

I found a photo of one of those massage roller things I was telling you about. Not a very good picture tho. The black rings on each end are rubber O-rings for rolling it on the floor? Of course you don't have to include those. This one looks like cherry but I think it would look really cool if it was walnut with a strip of cherry laminated down the center but not sure about the structural integrity. Could be made of pine for all I care! Doesn't matter to me.

I think it might be time to get rid of the "beginner wood worker" phrase in your introduction! I am very impressed with all of your projects! This is no longer the work of a novice!

Thanks for the recent comment about my banjo. That is actually only the second instrument I ever built. The first one was the autoharp that I just posted. I feel that I am also a beginner in wood working. There is so much to learn, and so much wood to make mistakes with. That's why I keep all scraps. Comes in handy for making piggy banks, etc. I have always thought about making a video of the tools and techniques that I use, but thought that the giggles from the skilled woodworkers would be too hard to handle.

Good luck at Palmer, Doug. Now instead of straightening boards on a jointer, you'll be straigtenting backs.
We look for you to be back woodworking when you get through your studies. Nice talking to you on LJ's
Keep your mind open for new ideas you may learn about woodworking along the way. Learn something new every day!!!!!!!!

    Hi and welcome to LJs…
Just wanted to pass on a little woodworking safety advice to you… keep your beautiful wife out of the shop while your working… a distraction like that would only lead to a lost finger… keep with the LJ group as they provide so much more insight to woodworking than you can imagine… They are extremely talented in all facets of the woodworking spectrum and some of the work they put out is just simply unbelieveable…
Sit back, enjoy the ride, treat your beautiful wife (gf? or whatever) really well and go the distance…
Your skills as a woodworker have already improved just by reading some of the articles on this site…
    Best of Luck,
    Wisty

I wished you lived closer to me. I have a thick router table with a lexan insert that you can have. For a fence, i used a piece of oak that was on a pivot on the left side and I used a C-clamp on the right edge to hold it in place once I set it. It is cut out in the front because I used a D-handle Makita router in it. It worked for me for 20 years until I got the bug to build a piece of furniture to house my Milwaukee router.I'm in Grand Rapids, Mi. you're welcome to it if you get up that way….....

Hang in there buddy! I worked in a Lowe's store part time in their tool depatment. We had the same thing happen there all the time. People opening closed tool cases, opening sealed packages, throwing leather goods all over the place and leaving stuff in my depatment from all other parts of the store. It was frustrating but I always felt it was just part of my job to pick up after them. In your case I would have called the manager and let him deal with the fool if he cared to do so. As far as showing you disrespect that is another thing. When I had an A-hole customer I would just walk away. If he ever complained to a manager I figured I would tell the boss I don't have to put up with that bull-s. I would like to think he would have agreed with me. When that happens to you again, I would go home, hug that pretty girl of yours, thank God for all your blessings and pray for people like that!

    God Bless

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

    God Bless
