Hey Joe…

A few people on my Google+ site asked a number of questions about the adjustable box joint fence when they saw my dado crosscut sled in a post. So, it seemed like a good idea to share the details here as well. It’s a simple low cost set-up that is worth its weight in gold. It’s safe, accurate, and efficient. Hope you get a chance to take it for a test drive. ;)

Hi Bob,

I studied your design and I like it allot. I have a couple of questions:

1) as far as I can tell you only need one 1/4” hole for adjustment. Could you tell me the benefits of having the series of 1/4 inch holes (1 1/2 inch spacing)?

2) also why do you extend only one of the runners beyond the deck (i.e., fore and aft)? I assume it to help visually locate the sled on the saw but I don’t know why you are doing it on only one of the runners and on he rear side also?

Kindest regards

Have your say...
