Part 1: Finally starting the chair build

I bought plans and DVD from Charles Brock, it was a Christmas gift from my wife. Not having much woodworking experience and almost no furniture experience I have been slow to start this project. After watching the DVD several time it was time to start this. The seat is the first thing to build and start carving on.

Part 3: Working the front legs

The front legs are suppose to be round. I don’t have a lath so this is how to do it by hand.

Part 4: Still working on the back legs

Made a jig to cut 6 degree cuts on the table saw. Glued blocks to the back legs and got them cut.

Starting to look like a chair. Got slowed down because the heat and had to get a new band saw blade.

Part 6: Back Rest Posts

Got the back posts ruff cut and started to shape them. This takes allot longer that I expected. Wish me luck.

Part 7: Gluing up the rockers

Got both of the rockers formed and doing some shaping on the rocker. Now comes the never ending sanding.
