I've been involved in woodworking and design since I was a boy. I'm nearing retirement age and have recently started my own woodworking business. I've always loved the look and feel of wood. I marvel that the grain of wood is always different from each board to another. Each piece is unique and possesses its own character. I believe that the woods grain should be emphasized in the pieces I create. I think it's almost sinful to cover natural wood with paint.
My first real woodworking project was in shop class in junior high school. I remember my instructor clearly and know that he had a positive influence on me that has lasted a lifetime. He helped me design and build a shoeshine box. I still have it and use it frequently. Since those early days I've designed and built literally hundreds of things, ranging from small hand-carved items to jewelry boxes, furniture, cabinetry, and even a few buildings.
My love for wood and all the beautiful and functional things which can be created from it has continued to grow over the years. I look forward to sharing my experiences with others who share my love for woodworking.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless
