So we are building a house. It has been a huge undertaking especially when my personality is such that I feel like I have to do everything. Luckily my wife has been there to help talk me down from some things and to give perspective. But I too have given perspective to her as well and one of the things that she decided we did not need to do was have me try to fit an old sink in a new house. Now don’t get me wrong I wanted to use it but after looking at what was going to be involved I offered another solution and she loved it. She also loved it because now we get to use the sink outdoors for a potting stand. The new solution is me building a base cabinet and getting a farm sink from IKEA (yes, I said the I-word – but it is a sink. I am a woodworker not a porcelain worker). So I have just built my first cabinet. In all of my time doing woodworking projects I have never built a faceframe kitchen cabinet. It has been quite a fun process and since I didn’t feel like it was worthy of it’s own project page I present to you my first base cabinet:
I glued up the doors last night so no picture of those yet. I have a bathroom vanity and some book cases to build so there will be more to come.
Update: I promised other pictures well here they are. Not too fancy but it did mean some shop time none the less.
