« Part 1: Panel glue up and dovetail side panels to bottom Part 2 of Saw Till series Part 3: Finished the carcass »

The bottom was dovetailed to the sides. The shelf or top of drawer box was done with three through tenons mostly because I wanted to try doing them. It worked out okay but they were not as tight as I would have liked. I guess it was because I used a knife wall when marking but that is not the same as “leaving the line”. I think next time I will try to under cut the tenon a bit or come back with a square and move the line in a bit.

I still need to dovetail the top on to the sides. I have made the top smaller front to back and will add some curves to the sides with the bandsaw to reduce bulk at the top half of the till.

Was thinking about two small drawers but may do one wide drawer with a red oak half blind dovetailed front face, another first.

Still not sure what the saw handle rest or grooved back board the saw blades will rest in will be. I am just looking and seeing what comes to mind in each step. Thanks for looking.
