Project Information
Flightline is a PC inspired by the Wright Brothers Memorial at Kill Devil Hills, NC. The case consists of 167 pieces of quilted maple, maple burl and mahogany veneer laid over a frame of 1/16" aircraft-grade birch plywood.
Yes it is a computer. It is a Thin Mini-ITX motherboard with a Core i7 processor. It was designed for use in All-In-One PCs to compete with the Mac. I've done different things with it.
I just assumed all woodworkers computers looked something like this. lol
Totally nice project.
I just love a wood case and have built two of them myself.
It's really fun to make something way of in left field compared to most builds.
What a great idea AND a great design. Simply beautiful piece of art and great way to hide an ugly piece of electronics. Going on my favorites list for future inspiration.
