Project Information
This is a lathe turned base of mesquite. The body was a mesquite log which was rounded and cut to length. Random sized holes were then drilled into the outside surface to the depth of about 1/2". Then mesquite limb slice segments the size of each hole were glued into the holes with a healthy amount of super glue. The outside was then turned to size, sanded and sanding sealer applied. The inside was then hollowed out so that the wall thickness was approximately 3/8" and the inside of the slices were exposed. The entire project was then finished with clear lacquer.
