Project Information

Well Hot Pink to be exact…
This box was featured as a teaser in one of my blog posts… the main box is Queensland Red Cedar…cut in 1946 … I bought some slabs around 10 years ago…
The panel is Tasmanian Blackheart Sassafras… beautiful timber… with black stripes…
Inside I have lined it with Hot Pink felt… wrapped around 3 mm ply… and spray on Craft Adhesive…
Including the lid… just to be different…
Hinge is from Lee Valley in Canada…
Box itself is 250 mm [10 inch] by 200 mm [8 inch] and around 60 mm [2 1/2 inch] high..
Sorry no more teasers at the moment… maybe tomorrow… Stay tuned…

I'm with TopamaxSurvivor-I love pink and I love bright …but what a surprise! Ha. I love it.

Every time you'd open up that box you would be smiling, knowing what was waiting for your eyes.
Love it Love it.

That's very nice, Larry. However, when the box is open I don't imagine they'll see the box at all because of the pink. It certainly stands out and grabs ya'.

Larry, I think there are a great number of ladies who would grab that box because of the lining alone. But the smart "pink lovers" will see that as the icing on the cake. The real beauty of this box is in the wood and the workmanship.
Congratulations on a fine piece of work.

Larry, thought you where shopping at Victoria Secrets at first….......That's PINK! LOL. Seriously, great box, wish I could get my hands of some of the woods you get to work with. The Tasmanian Blackheart Sassafras is awesome. Beautiful box.

Larry, you can't be blinding me this early in the morning! The sun is just barely creeping up so it's a good thing I had a light on in the room! Just kidding.

Great orientation with the lid. When closed, people probably think the lid is the show stopper. Little do they know what's lurking below… surprise!

In all fairness, you did warn us with the title that this was probably something a little different. And sometimes, different is food.
