Project Information

i have mastered the desinge of the "perfect saw horse". these are made of pine 2X4s and are finished with a barn brown poly-finish mix i bought at ace hardware. they were really pretty cheap no more than 25 or 30$. there havey duty around 10 pounds each 2 and a half or 3 feet tall, 4' long and have a foot depth of 2'. my uncle gave me two old barn doors around 80 pounds each to put on top for a great work surface. when you gotta make a cut (since there about 2" thick) you pull them apart and cut between them. it overall was one of my favroite projects

Nice solid design. One hint, If you taper the angle on the legs (end to end wize) you can make these stackable. That way they take up less space durring storage. Just an idea.

Doors make for a good quick table when you need them. Good idea.

Keep it up.

Nice job. I too save old doors for impromptu work surfaces.

Too bad I just gave up on permanent saw horses (take up too much space in my 1/2 garage show), but these definitely look like a great design!

nice looking saw horses…. I am still a big advocate of the 15 degree saw horse though… I changed the design of mine to include a 2×6 as the top board (laid flat) which allows for greater storage on top. Also, I made 2 regular height ones and a pair of shorter ones which I find I use more than the bigger ones…

They look good for lightweight work. I prefer a flat 2×6 or 2×8 top and a walk up design.
