Project Information

Not sure if this is called a jewelry armoire, cabinet, or chest. I built this out of tiger maple for my girlfriend for her birthday which is tomorrow. I was really feeling the pressure but thanks to my company closing for 2 days due to all the snow, I was able to pull it off in time for her birthday.
There are 7 horizontal drawers and 2 "vertical drawers" for her necklaces.
This was the first major project that I got to use my isoloc templates with my Leigh jig. After a few test joints, it went well.
I used an anyline dye, 2 coats of shellac, and 3 coats of lacquer for the finish.
I plan on installing felt and dividers in all the drawers but am going to wait to see how she wants her jewelry organized. I have to be honest, I'm not looking forward to building dividers for all those drawers. Maybe I can find some pre-made inserts. I think Rockler might sell them.

I'm sure she will be pleased, beautiful piece. funny thing is I could hardly take my eyes off your shop to look at the cabinet. That's one fine shop you have there too.
