Ford Hot Rod "C" Cab T-Bucket Van

After the fun of making a detailed Ford Hot Rod "C" Cab T-Bucket for myself I knew I needed to make a similar version for other children to play with.

https://www.lumberjocks.com/projects/418923

So I started again with the basic Van T-Bucket body though without the rear opening door and a less complicated drivers cabin, bench seat, button steering wheel and bead gear shifter.

The engine took me nearly 4 hours on the original toy so this one was simplified, just radiator, blower and zombie pipes with a strip down the centre of the engine block.

The wheels are shop bought as are the furniture button lights on the front and rear bumper bars..
i made the headlights and secured with a 1/4" bamboo skewer.

The finish is my home made wipe-on-poly.

The chassis is Spotted Gum, the engine is Merbau, the roof is American Oak, the drivers seat is Cyprus Pine, but I haven't a clue on the sides.

This one has gone to the local shop.

Great job Peter, and you have been busy since the last post a few days ago. I always enjoy reading your post about the build. You are making the kids smile, and that is a great thought.

Where do you get your "Ford" emblem? I am a Ford guy, and once I start building some of these it would be nice to use the logo plate.

Thank you Eric, but I had about 4 or 5 projects on the go at one time. I had to wait until my under the house shed dried out after last month's 18 to 20 inches of rain.
The beaut Ford lazer cut logos were very kindly done for me by none other than the very clever and generous duck Alex (LBD).
My apologies for not mentioning that in the more recent posts of the toys I've been making.
They just add a top shelf detail to the toy especially for a Ford supporter.

That's a lot of rain, we average around 3 1/2" - 4" a month in my neck of the woods.

I was thinking the Duck might have been mentioned in a past post, He does a great job on those. You have a lucky duck, so to speak. Still it's great.

Congratulations on the "Daily Top 3"

Nice, Peter! Still looks like a great toy, and hopefully a more streamlined build if you're going to be doing them in great numbers.

Well done. Durable design kids can have lots of play time with it. Cutting that cab and top is no easy task!
