Project Information

This is the first project that I did with 8th graders in an intro to woods class. They were allowed to choose between poplar, oak or cherry. It's taken longer than I expected but they are coming out really well =]

The pictures were taken of different students' projects at different points in time so the wood may not be the same in every picture

Jess, Great job teaching the 8th graders. I love seeing the young woodworkers projects. Very few schools are teaching woodworking, so it's refreshing to see someone teaching the young.

Thanks everyone!

The students were allowed to choose if they wanted to put something in the back. They chose between paneling, cork board, chalk/magnet board or just leaving it empty.

The kids really stepped it up and are doing great with it =] I only had patterns for the curve on the side rails and the curve on the bottom of the frame.
