Project Information

Here's a very simple project, as timely as today's headlines…

It's a quick and easy to make device to hold a face mask on without having to thread it around one's ears.
There are plastic ones of these made and sold (that are rather fragile and certainly NOT very "stylish"), and I've seen others made from a strip of cloth or leather with buttons sewn on… Of course, for me, wood was the only option…

The making was about ten minutes of effort, out of a Mahogany scrap that was kicking around…

You can see, how unattractive the plastic alternative is (and how flimsy!)

The advantages to these are that: #1) those of us with sensitive skin don't get irritation behind our ears from mask wearing, #2) they make it easy and more comfortable to not only wear these silly masks, but to put them on and take them off, and #3) You can lower the mask at any time, to eat or drink (or speak!), without having to remove it entirely…

Anyway, keep safe and healthy my Friends! :)

Looking good Mike. It should save hearing aids too ;-) They don't like strap stresses.

patron, love the pic. 10 thumbs up!!!!

littlecope, quite stylish you are. Does the wood back there cause any pressure?

For those like me, that often can't see something, well, until I see it. Now I understand completely.

Thank You All very much!!

SteveN: Actually, I wear mine like so-

Working in a Hospital, I've worn two plastic ones until they literally fell off, wore this one last night…
They are completely without pressure on my neck, I barely know it's there!

Looks like a pretty nifty Whiffensniffer but can you drink a beer with it on?

The models are pretty sharp too!
