Project Information

This is a mesquite weed vase that was ordered by some friends for their RV. It is made to hang on the wall rather than stand on a shelf. It is 6 1/4" x 1 3/4" thick. It was made out of a piece of discarded slab wood and thus had a many worm holes in it just under the sap wood. They are filled with turquoise.

It is finished with Danish oil and then buffed and waxed.

A mighty fine looking weed vase Jim! You can have all my weeds if you wish… they grow better than our turf here in FL. LOL!

I like this one better Jim. Hanging on the wall so it won't get knocked over. Nice job.

Thank you all for the nice comments.

Hi Klaus, this is for dried weeds like pampas grass. Just spray them with hair spray and it will not deteriorate all over the house. They may put cotton plants in it, the fields are ripe with cotton now!

Cheers, Jim

Hi Tony. I'm glad I could get you interested. Mike (LJ Stefang) in Norway got me interested and I just can't quit making them.
I have an order for another one when I find the right wood.

Cheers, Jim

Very COOL!

Looks like it could be a canteen too… if it wouldn't leak. :)
