Project Information

My neighbor gave me a large log from his walnut tree he had cut down. There are several large (60" diameter 80' tall) walnut trees on my street. He sold a majority of the main trunk and let me have a trunk piece from the top. I made him this box as a thank you for the free wood! There were three main leads coming out of the trunk that gave me some of the best crotch walnut I have ever seen! I used most of the wood to make a dining room table and I'm working on a toy box for my youngest son.

That's a beautiful box, and a nice way to reciprocate for his generosity. Definitely a win-win for both of you.
