Project Information

Finally finished my saw till. I've been picking up vintage saws on eBay and were beginning to clutter up my garage shop. I saw a similar version of this till online and thought I would make myself one. It's made primarily from red oak and a mystery wood for the top brace, the saw rest and drawer front. I don't know what it is; I got it from the short cut stack at Woodcraft; it is incredibly hard, heavy and dense. I would appreciate it if anyone knows what it is could share that with me. It is finished with a few coats of Danish Oil and several coats of wax. As with all my projects, it is made entirely with hand tools. No machines in my shop. It hangs on the wall with a french cleat. It makes the rest of my shop look pretty pathetic. Think I'll need to make a tool cabinet to balance things out. Thanks for looking.
