This did qualify as a wood project because it is bamboo flooring and bamboo is not wood, it's a grass
I cut this out of left over flooring that Fernando, a head nurse, gave me to play with and, as I really didn't have any play time I made this for him.
It didn't cut too bad but not nearly as clean as wood!
The finish on the very too layer is extremely thin and it was difficult to not have any chip out.
The lettering and border were cut with an Onsrud 1/8" tapered (77-102) ball end mill while the cutout was done with an Onsrud down cut bit (57-910) for 1/16" to minimize the chipping of the top layer and finished cutout with an Onsrud Super "O" (65-025) bit. The down cut did work as the was almost no chipping, as I have seen on plywood, on the cutout passes. These are all carbide bits as most of the material is bamboo but a binding material.
I probably won't cut the grass again, wood cuts much better.

Super nice work on this. I'll bet your friend was more than pleased! Bamboo is very hard on edge tools as I'm sure you are aware. My eldest son once tried very hard to get me to make a bamboo fly fishing rod for him, but I flat out refused knowing how much hand planing work and iron sharpening would be necessary.

Dutchy, I really like the Onsrud bits especially the Super "O".
I have yet to see something this bit doesn't cut like butter.
The only thing you have to watch out for is cutting thin material as the bit will tend to pull it up.

Onsrud is bought a couple of years ago by the LMT group (Leitz metal tooling) Leitz is originated in Oberkochen near Aalen in Baden Wurtenberg. The Leitz descendants have the company split a while back in Leitz GmbH & Co. KG and LMT.
Members of Leitz GmbH & Co. KG) are Leitz Werkzeuge, KWO, Boehlerit and Schumacher und Sohn.
Members of LMT are Onsrud, Belin, Fette and Kieninger.
