Project Information

This was a piece of an old hardwood post (possibly terpentine), a support for an above ground pool, many moons ago.
The lid is fitted with a pvc ring I fashioned off a piece of 90mm pipe. It's a good way of maintaining the grain pattern on the outside with minimum waste.
Finished with several coats (lost count) of wipe on poly

I've never seen a piece of PVC look so good.

Just think what you could do with some real good material.

Nice work, Tony Good save to that old piece of post! I like to use PVC inside too for threaded lids.

A few more coats on the pvc and you have a match. LOL. Nice job buddy.

Looks like some very nice turning work there Grumpy.

I actually veneered some 90mm pipe some time ago, I dont remember what it was for.



Possibly had nothing better to do at the time!
