Project Information

I have been browsing this site for quite some time and am always intrigued by the projects that I see. I have decided to join to further benefit from such a great site.

After seeing many of the cutting boards here on this site, I decided that I would try my hand at one, for a gift for an upcoming wedding that my wife and I are going to. I decided on the "Tumbling Blocks" board and when I was done I still had some leftover strips.

My wife was in the shop helping me glue up the board, and the quilter in her came out. She was busy swapping the strips around to get different designs. We decided to make cheese boards, and by changing the way the strips were laid out she came up with two other variations.

The pictures are of the gift, followed by three cheese boards.

Wow. Those are special designs. One might see stars after cutting chunks of cheese…

Thanks for all of the great comments. They are encouraging. The boards were a lot of fun to build, but I was surprised by how much wood they took.
