Project Information

Here is my contribution to the 2017 Knife Swap. Draw knife and a mini style "kukri" shape. Also for myself I made a kiridashi marking knife.

All were made from wet tile saw blades.






Cut out with and shaped, hardened and tempered all in my 3 car garage.

Draw knife has mahogany handles.

Knife has my favorite and quickly running out of spalted hackberry scales.

Kiridashi has pecan scales.

Excellent package buddy. Seriously amazing, the draw knife is an especially good idea on this one and execution was amazing.

Awesome set Gary! The drawknife is unique and a tough build I imagine. I love the Kukuri. Looks like a nice size to have around. And, you know I LOVE those scales! :)

Super job buddy! When I saw that draw knife I remember saying, "now why didn't I think of that". Great job on everything and thanks for being a big part of the swap.

I am here to say the kukri is a very nice knife ….BUT let me say the draw knife is very excellent …...when I built my mallet awhile back I was thinking WOW I could use a draw knife ….so after I received this package was a surprise it was for me I put 2×2 x18 piece oak in vise and played and played and played till I had a pile of shavings ….VERY HAPPY THANKS AGAIN Gary :<))

Nope, got that beauty working on a cutting board. This one


Saws are not your friend, treat them with respect.
