Project Information

I made this bookcase for my mother-in-law. The wood for this project came out of her mother's yard in Louisburg, Kansas. The story goes that the tree was planted sometime around the Civil War. After my wife's grandmother passed away they sold the house. The new owners cut the tree down and were gracious enough to allow us to keep the wood for projects around our home.

I really like the clean straight lines. That clear gloss finish truly sets off the piece.

Very nice to create such a great project from the wood that holds sentimental value.
