"Wood and Clay" ... my dream store front business is happening.

Hey Fellow Lumberjocks,

A long desired dream of having my own store front is coming into reality. After three yeas of research and deliberation I found a decently priced corner store front in Berwyn, Illinois. It was a 5 month back breaking (okay, hernia making.. I earned myself a hernia) and emotional journey of packing a isolated city warehouse of 1,250 sq' and 8 years of wood, tools, and art supplies …. 10 miles across town and into a 1,450 sq' (750 first floor/ 700 basement). 2 months of packing.. one month to move seven 17' truck loads… hernia surgery.. and so far two months of re-setting up on one of the busiest, high traffic corners in Berwyn.

BUT A DREAM HAS BEEN ACHIEVED.

"Wood and Clay"
That's the name of my new studio / gallery.
6800 West 26th Street, Berwyn, Il 60402.

I have a lot to set up yet to be open to the public, but I am going to offer a place for my fellow artisans and artists to sell their work, and since I work in clay and wood.. I will be selling wood, clay, woodworking and clay working tools. Offering artistic services of Kiln firing clay, mold making and casting,.... and woodworking mentorship and ocassionally a classes or creative event. I plan to have an open house and open my door to sales to the public in a month or two.

For now it is just my studio and a place to show off my work to cars and trucks stopped at the traffic light. My sculptures are making to rounds on the internet media and so many people stop in who are local artist and art collectors… I am really getting excited. When i am ready I will post pictures.

So if any of you out there want to see if I can sell something of your… send me a PM.

And if any of you wood sources have some cool stock.. or anything that can be carved…
Diamond willow…. antlers… etc… please PM me.

Please PM me if you want to stop by so I can give you my phone#...
My hours are irregular at best, but I hope to meet some of ya and become a local resource.

Eric, that location certainly looks ideal for your store. The storefront looks welcoming, then you have pizza next door, and the 7 Eleven across the street, so your exposure should be ideal. I certainly wish you the best with your business. If it wasn't 27 hours drive each way, I'd be one of your customers.
