Project Information

A couple of days ago I posted my kiefer style table saw sled. Being me I was unable to resist a little marquetry to spruce it up (pun intended). I also posted a blog entry about the miter sled attachment I made to fit it so that it could cut miters on my ShopSmith. There was no marquetry on the miter sled, apparently a mistake or oversight on my part. So the story goes that my good friend Jeff thought he should bring this glaring error of omission to my attention.

To quote Jeff:

So where's the full marquetry scene on the face of the ramp?

My answer was:

Is that a challenge Jeff?????
Hmmmmm …….

Sometimes you just have to drop the pressure job you are in the middle of and have a little fun. Thanks Jeff, you may retrieve your gauntlet now.

Thanks for looking

Paul

It must work pretty good…those are some nice mitered corners. And, that's definitely a lot less scary
looking than when your table was tilted 45 degrees!!

I assume the 4th and 5th pics are for a dog food bowl stand.

I need to make one for our Greyhound to replace the store-bought item. I was leaning toward a G&G style, but I seem to have more ideas for projects than time (by a factor of about 10)

Some day an archaeologist will dig that up and be scratching his head ;-) Nice work! Is a full set of all the possible wood working angles in the future?

Hi Paul, I noticed your mark on that last project. Very nice. I think you could make one with a down hill grade of 90% for the Millenium Force ride at Cedar Point!!

Beautiful! And, the mitered plywood is PERFECT, especially for a ShopSmith. I have a MKV that "ve had since 1976 and It never did anything of that quality. Mostly because of my talent I'm sure. But, it's just not that tuned of a machine. Still use it for horizontal boring and lathe work.

Thanks everyone,

Thomas, the dog is fine, 13 years old with hip dysplasia and she can still run like the wind ….... in the morning. By dinner time she's a little creaky and an elevated bowl will be appreciated.

Joe, yes (see above) it's for the dog. I'll post it when it's done. I just used it as an example of how the 50% grade ramp works .

Topa, it could actually have been made adjustable … before I labeled it …. :)

Yes, you do have to have room to move in the shop ;-) If you fill it with fantastic projects, there won't be room to make more fantastic projects. I was working on that today, making room to make projects. Hopefully, I will eventually get to fantastic??

Paul,

Good to hear! Sometimes there is more stuff than storage space? How about a pine plank from a crate my dad salvaged( only one left) from 1945?

LOL!

It looks like you got all the angles covered Paul, literally! Quite a gradient too. Looks great. I'm jealous of your ability to whack these nice marquetries out like cars on an assembly line. Your V8 logo seems very appropriate in that light.
