Project Information

My niece asked me if I could make her a cookie jar and the answer was yes. She then added if I could make it look like a Oreo cookie jar since her daughters love them. I thought about it for a couple seconds and replied yes. So the game was on.
My first attempt was a 3'' mock-up consisting of maple and walnut. The coloring was not right at all. It looked more like a cream of wheat thingy than an oreo. I figured I had to paint and or stain it, and this was the result.
A dark stain for the cookie and white paint for the cream. I used a texturing tool on the cookie to give it a more realistic look and it turned out great. I made the handle look like a cup of milk, cause everyone knows the best way to eat oreo's is by dunking them.
Stands 12'' tall, 6'' in dia. Made out of a willow tree log and maple for the handle. It will hold 3 stacks of Oreo's.
Thanks for looking.

Nicely executed cookie jar Dave. Nothing beats a cold glass of milk and a plate full of Oreos, double stuffed of course…LOL.

Thanks Tony, it was a good challenge, only they will get it next month near their birthday.

Thanks Jim. I like to see your version of a chips Ahoyu jar.

Uncle Stumpy, there are time they don't get what they want. ha ha

Joe, did you notice the handle? It suppose to be their cup of milk. lol.

Bill ,Joe, always a good time for Oreo's..It's like Ice cream.

John, Hoss, hotncold, thanks for the kind words. I have to say it was different.

Lee, even those double stuffed ones are too rich for me. But I like them.
