This is my entry for the 2014 Whirligig Wars. A man tries to push a cow off the track, but he only manages to push its hind end up. Meanwhile an engine waits for the track to be cleared. This was a bit of a problem in these parts over a hundred years ago. The propeller is painted like railroad semaphore blades.

This was a fun build, but as usual it took longer than I thought. The inspiration of how to simulate track without actually making track came to me as I went along. I got it to turn with a fan, but really I need to put a larger prop on it.

The second and third photos show the main action of the scene.

Photo #6 shows the detailed drawing I started with.

The video below shows the movement of the whirligig.

I love whirligigs. This is one of the better ones I have see. I've made a few years ago. Great fun.
