Project Information

I was wanting to do this scrollwork for a while now and just couldn't find the spare time. I finally found a few hours over last weekend and got the itch to sit at the scrollsaw….....

If you are a Dr. Who Fan then I need not explain what this is, but for the few dozen or so of you who aren't - this is the side portraits of the first 11 Doctors in order of appearance on the show.

Pic Five shows the image of them the BBC put together to celebrate the 50th anniversary - I just thought that they looked really cool like this!

The wood I selected is an ancient piece of Spanish Cedar and is around 3/16" thick. Overall, the piece measures around 15×6 inches.

Finish is a soaking in lemon oil - the black background is thick felt stretched behind the opening.

Cheers!

Nice. It captures them quite well.

The fourth Dr. with the curly hair is the one I used to watch with my grandpa when I was about 3 yrs old. I didn't get the show, but I remember the music at the end sounding kind of scary to me at the time. Then the grandfather clock would go off and that just seemed to add to the spookiness.

I too watched the 4th Dr. (Tom Baker). I think that is most likely where my fondness of scarves comes from.
I think you did a fantastic job on this Bob!
