Project Information
I signed up for Paul Sellers' Woodworking Master Class this week. http://woodworkingmasterclasses.com/ At $15 a month, I've already got my money's worth. I love Paul's teaching style. Decided to start with the Dovetail Box project, the first one of which is a chisel tray. My first time hand-cutting dovetails. OK, my first time creating dovetails by any method.
Totally goofed cutting the first set of pins. Cut on the wrong side of the line, making a way-too-big space. So had to restart and recut some pieces. The next four pin cuts were increasingly successful and the last one wasn't half bad.
I did use the table saw to mill some of the rough stock, but beyond that, it was all hand tools. I'm becoming darned comfortable with that second refurbished Stanley No. 4. I absolutely love using it.
So not a museum quality piece, but it will proudly hold my chisels for years to come.
Oh, I also need to finish it with something. What's good for pine?
