Project Information

I didn't think about posting this until I saw other valentine projects.

The Walnut shell came from a tree that was in the backyard of the house where I grew up and has been in my workshop for over 40 years. I added a walnut hinge to the back and the engraved walnut ovals to the inside to complete my valentine. The only parts that are NOT walnut is the hinge pin and the birch plywood backer for the ovals.
My wife insist that she should have given that to me as the NUT part is what was missing.

Very creative and well done! But, I would be in big trouble if that's all I shelled out for Valentine's Day.

A1Jim, that's not a bad idea … maybe in a pecan shell?
Since pecan don't split like walnuts I would have to saw it in half

Elaine, I do have a weird sense of humor so it does fit my personality!
My kids said I should have only used one side of the shell as I am "half nuts"!
