Project Information

I got the idea for this project from Cbeard, thanks dude. I modified the drawer fronts as I couldn't get them to look right, plus my dovetail bit was too small. Oak 3/4" ply, oak and poplar drawers (what I had), and pine drawer fronts. I've been trying to make some shop made drawer pulls, but I cannot decide on what I like. Finished with danish oil and paste wax, my new favorite combo - easy and looks solid. This project took about a month off-and-on… the drawers take a while. This was my first project making and fitting drawers. Hopefully I can make a hand tool cabinet now.

Nice job. I have been wanting to make some carts with wide shallow drawers like this. Been trying to find a decent deal on some map cabinets, but they're all pretty pricey. Might have to bite the bullet and build one like yours.

Excellent work utilizing materials around the shop. Now that you've got one, I'm sure you'll find a need for three or four more…
