Project Information

Found an old kitchen table. The bottom was in good shape. The top was MDF with some cheesy laminate that was peeling off. No sense wasting a good base. Made with bookmatched slabs of Ash. Pour on epoxy coating. My booth opens for 10 days at the fair starting tomorrow. I have high hopes for this piece. It's 38 inches wide an 62 inches long. About 2 inches thick.

Thanks for looking

Pretty neat piece, looks good on the metal base. Who doesn't like a good bookmatch?

Agree with all the above and add that your epoxy finish is a great touch that will make the top both usable and long lasting.

Nice slab. GREAT idea Monte. I will STEAL that idea for repurposing older table legs. I have some slabs that need legs. I just sold my maple burl coffee table so good luck to you and your show. The right buyer will come to the show and take it home.

Love the bookmatched ash. It has a lot more color/figure than the ash I have seen here.

The epoxy turned out well and I don't see any entombed flies!

Best wishes for a sellout at the Fair.
