Project Information

The Field Marshall (that would be The Mrs.) wanted a wall unit for the kitchen, to fit above an old table that we "inherited from her family. The table itself had LOTS of paint layers, and when stripped down it turned out to be walnut. The top had a couple pretty evil gouges: the table had been used as a garage workbench for awhile before we got it. My brother-in-law came up with a nice chunk of granite that we topped the table with, so the gouges were no problem.
The wall cabinet is about 4' x 4', 12" deep with a plate rack. Her paint scheme is a base of white, with a light blue barely painted on with a nearly dry brush. She roughed up some spots with sandpaper to give it an old-timey look. The unit hangs on French cleats, so I suspect it will stay in place. There is also a narrow cabinet that sits next to this (not pictured) that runs floor to 7' height, about 12" wide, that fills the space (and holds many bottles of adult-only refreshment). It's paint job matches the wall unit.
Now that this is on the wall, it's on to the next honey-do project :)

Looks like "Honey" did do a good job. If the "Field Marshall" is happy, it's perfect.
