Project Information

It ain't fine woodworking, it's not a friggin' Roubo bench…but it made a 4 year old very happy! My daughter's friend ask if I would build a bench for her son. She said all the ones she saw in the stores were cheaply made (shocker) and cost way too much. Said I would be happy to build it for her. She picked it up yesterday and I understand the young man was so happy he didn't want to go to bed. Simple, but well built. 1×3 frame work, MDF top and bottom shelves, two coats of latex paint. Thanks for looking

I love it, I'll have to make one for my boy. Making something has so much more value than buying it.

Oh wow! I'll be building two of these! One for my house and one for where he lives.

Great job, Rick! Who knows what creativity might be sparked at this little bench? And, years from now he may be sitting in a rocker on his porch talking to his grandson telling him about his first workbench. More than just a bench, you built him a memory!

To a 4 year old, it is fine woodworking and as good as a robo bench! Good job.

This project makes the others pale by comparison. The smile of a 4 year old is the highest sign of approval. It looks super. I hope to have grandkids someday and I'm putting this on the list of things to build for them! Thanks for sharing. Oh, Rick-it snowed here in West Tennessee last night. Except for the rain, its been a pretty nice winter here.

Wow! I love this, I mean the kids will love that. A great project to train kids for work and fun at the same time.

As far as I am concerned it's very fine furniture. I really enjoy making things for the kids. Their projects are always top priority to me. Great work and it looks like I'll be making one just like it but pink for the granddaughter.
